How to get to Cortina

Find out how to reach Cortina D'Ampezzo

By car

From the south, Cortina d’Ampezzo can be reached via the A27 motorway from Mestre to Pian di Vedoja (Belluno – approximately 72km away). Here you enter the state road 51 d’Alemagna. After passing the towns of Longarone, Tai and Valle di Cadore, you go up the Boite valley, with the spectacle of the Pelmo and Antelao mountains on the sides.

Once past San Vito di Cadore, the gaze encounters an exciting scenario: the wide Ampezzo valley opens up surrounded by majestic peaks.
This is perhaps the busiest communication route that leads to Cortina, but it is also the only one that does not require crossing any Dolomite pass.
From Mestre it takes about 2 hours.

From the north, from the A22 Brennero motorway (Modena-Verona), take the Bressanone exit and take the Alemagna state road 51 towards Dobbiaco. From Bressanone, Cortina can be reached in approximately 1 hour (87km away).

From Cortina the border with Austria is only 44km.

From east to west, Cortina d’Ampezzo is crossed by the “48 delle Dolomiti” state road, a panoramic road, at times winding, which crosses some Dolomite passes and is particularly appreciated by cyclists and motorcyclists in the summer.
