Dolomites by Mountain Bike
Mountain bike enthusiasts in Cortina d’Ampezzo have 16 dedicated routes available, for every level of difficulty, suitable for all ages and set in an absolutely spectacular landscape in the heart of the Dolomites, a Natural World Heritage Site since 2009.
The Hotel Des Alpes is located right on the “Lunga Via delle Dolomiti” the cycle path, created from the route of the former railway abandoned in 1964, which crosses the territory of Cortina d’Ampezzo to reach Dobbiaco in a northerly direction and Calalzo di Cadore in southbound.
The route, partly on asphalt and partly on dirt road, crosses the historic tunnels of the Dolomite train and winds through numerous mountain villages, woods and lakes. It is possible to move easily along the route, also thanks to the Bike n’ Bus service from Cortina d’Ampezzo to Calalzo di Cadore or to Cimabanche in the direction of Dobbiaco.
Starting from the hotel, with your bike you can enter the Ampezzo Dolomites Natural Park to discover a landscape of majestic rock walls, waterfalls, lakes, pastures and streams.
